Send to KindleThe New Wanderings No 21 —Â Â December 2012
Yes! Late again.
These last few months have been very life changing for me. First of all, after 38 years with the Canadian Coast Guard, I finally decided to call it quits and I retired on 02 January 2013. Secondly, we have been planning and making the final arrangements to visit our daughter Jennifer, in New Zealand. And to top things off, we have been very fortunate to have the privilege of being the foster parents of a beautiful 11 month old baby boy. Â
So that is why December’s Wanderings is being posted at the end of February.  Unfortunately, this will be the last column until later in the spring, when I hope to start up again.
This issue contains the usual Smörgåsbord of DIY Science Sites such as several biology related sites that should interest some of you. Included are the plans for a Glove Box. Please note that this box is NOT suitable for hazardous materials.
For those of you who like Lego, there is the Rube Goldburg computer and a couple complex LEGO creations such as a Babbage Difference Engine and a model of the Antikythera Mechanism.
I have several hundred, if not thousands, URL’s book-marked just waiting to be encluded in future Wanderings. So hopefully, I can get organized and we will meet again in the spring.
Enjoy!
Ralph
