NPR: High Schooler Invents New Mine Detector

Using a concrete vibrator which is normally used to drive air bubbles out of hardening concrete, she developed an inventions that uses the vibrations to locate buried mines (she obtained demilitarized mine casings to use for testing). Initial results are very encouraging. Continue reading
